On August 4, 2009 Book ReViews presented a check for $1,000 to Community Playschool Inc, North Newton, KS and $1,000 to Salvation Army, Newton, KS.
The gift to Salvation Army is designated for school supplies. Upon receiving the check, Jeanette Leary, Co-director of the Community Playschool said, “We are grateful for this gift, because we have more applications for scholarships this year than last year. Book ReViews, a not for profit store, is located at 707 N Main. The store welcomes book donations and additional volunteers are needed, according to Vern Preheim, the manager.
